COVID-19 Update 5/4/2020:

BUILDING INSPECTIONS:

Operations will resume as follows: Building Inspections will be scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

We will conduct either onsite or virtual building inspections.

Onsite inspections (non-virtual) on the following types of projects (this is not all inclusive, every project can be unique):

  • New buildings
  • Tenant Improvements
  • Additions
  • Remodels (unoccupied structures)

Virtual inspections will be optional for the following (this is not all inclusive, every project can be unique):

  • Insulation inspections
  • Drywall inspections (non fire-rated)
  • Minor rough frame inspections (e.g., bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels,)
  • Water heater inspections
  • Furnace Inspections

PERMIT COUNTER SERVICES/PERMIT INTAKE & PERMIT ISSUANCE:

1960 Tate Street building will remain closed to the public.

Permit processing will be done mostly electronically; however, there is a drop-off method available,

please contact Building Division Staff for instructions (650) 853-3189.

CODE ENFORCEMENT SERVICES:

Code Enforcement Officers are available for queries by dialing (650) 853-3189.

All public records requests must be formally requested through the Deputy City Clerk. Please contact City Hall at 650-853-3100 to submit your request. Per law, we have 10 days to respond to Public Records Requests.
